Biography

Joe Hammer leads the Life Science and Healthcare practice for CIBC Innovation Banking, putting to work over two decades of experience partnering with healthcare entrepreneurs and investors to advance innovative business models. Previously, he led Silicon Valley Bank’s Life Science and Healthcare Corporate Banking practice, working with middle-market private and public companies across the U.S. Prior to SVB, I was the Chief Development Officer at a life sciences subsidiary specializing in business process outsourcing for orphan drug, biopharma, and medical device manufacturers

The early years of his career were at the General Electric Company, starting at GE Healthcare’s Financial Management Program and GE Corporate’s Experienced Commercial Leadership Program, and then holding roles of increasing responsibility across multiple businesses. Joe was proud to serve as Chair of BioForward, Inc. (Wisconsin’s Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) Affiliate) and has been a speaker at the New York Stock Exchange’s Life Sciences IPO Summit.
