Welcome to Our Breaking Health Podcast Channel
Conversations between VCs and entrepreneurs typically occur in boardrooms or coffee shops. In the Breaking Health Podcast, you get a seat at the table. Healthcare VC Stephen Krupa, Managing Director of the Psilos Group, brings his investor insight to revealing conversations with the most disruptive CEOs in healthcare. Listen to understand how these leaders are building the companies – and fostering the cultures – that will change everything.
Sid Viswanathan doesn’t believe that a pre-existing passion is essential to entrepreneurial success, instead he recommends choosing an area with plenty to learn. “Find something you can spend a lot of time obsessing over,” he told the Breaking Health podcast. When he co-founded Truepill, Viswanathan didn’t know much about healthcare, but now it is a passion. “It’s such a meaty industry; there’s so much stuff to do,” he said. Truepill launched as a virtual pharmacy in 2016, offering everything from the digital consumer-facing front end to pill packing and shipping on the back end. But the vision, Viswanathan said, is virtual healthcare, which now includes telemedicine and diagnostics as well. Truepill serves as a collaborative partner, he said, for payers, life sciences, healthcare, and providers.
Sid Viswanathan is the Co-Founder and CEOof Truepill. Alongside Co-Founder Umar Afridi, Sid founded Truepill in 2016 with a mission to transform consumer healthcare. The company shipped its first prescription five years ago and has since expanded its services to include telehealth, diagnostics, and pharmacy, enabling millions to access modern, affordable, and personalized healthcare experiences. Prior to Truepill, Sid founded CardMunch, a business-card scanning app that was acquired by LinkedIn soon after its founding. After its acquisition, Sid joined LinkedIn as Product Manager and saw CardMunch named one of Time Magazine’s Best Apps of 2012. Sid started his career in Johnson & Johnson’s Global Operations Leadership Development program, working in the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering.
