LRVHealth Tapping Providers for New $100 Million Fund

February 19, 2018

Tripp Peake co-founded Long River Ventures in 2000, just before the tech and venture capital industries took a dive. The firm survived, thrived, and is very much alive raising a $100 million fund under a new brand, LRVHealth. The new name and tight healthcare focus reflects the firm’s strong connections to hospital networks and other healthcare institutions making up its limited partner base. With a broader investment team and new purpose, LRVHealth is looking to connect healthcare innovators and end-users. Overview: More money for Series A rounds. Good news! Surprises: I didn’t know the origin of the Long River name. Regrets: A question or two about LRVHealth’s existing portfolio would have been nice Enjoy this podcast!

LRVHealth

Tripp Peake co-founded LRVHealth (formerly Long River Ventures) in 2000 and has served as a general partner in all four of the firm’s funds. He has been lead investor and/or board member at numerous companies including Diameter Health, Health Guru (acquired by Kitara Media), and Protedyne (acquired by LabCorp). Prior to Long River, Tripp was a partner at Kestrel Venture Management, where he focused on the management of the Mass Ventures Equity Fund. Before joining Kestrel, Tripp was co-founder and CEO of two venture development consulting companies: Mass Ventures, based in Amherst, MA and associated with the University of Massachusetts; and Science Park Associates, based in New Haven, CT and associated with Yale University. Both of these companies provided university spin-offs and regional entrepreneurs with strategic and financing advice and helped raise over $50 million in private equity for 18 different early stage ventures.
