VisitPay

Biography

Kent is a seasoned business leader who has delivered breakthrough results in a multitude of consumer finance and payments businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. After co-founding VisitPay in 2010, Kent and his team spent four years of R&D developing an end-to-end platform for managing patient receivables.  Part of that effort included a year directly managing the revenue cycle operations of one of VisitPay’s largest clients successfully navigating a migration to the Epic SBO billing system. After proving the learnings from that work in four diverse markets nationally with multi-billion dollar health systems utilizing each of the major EMRs, the company launched the VisitPay patient financial engagement platform in early 2014.  VisitPay transforms the patient billing experience engendering loyalty from consumers and break-through economics for providers. The VisitPay platform is live in multiple, diverse markets and has a proven, consistent and multi-year track record of generating transformative results across both acute and ambulatory billing systems nationally.

Prior to co-founding VisitPay, Kent was most recently Executive Vice President, US Card Division for Capital One Financial (COF). Kent led a transformation of the company’s largest business unit from a high-fee, high-attrition business operating under regulatory action to a highly profitable consumer-franchise free of regulatory encumbrances. He more than doubled profits over a five-year period while more than halving both bad debt and customer attrition rates. Kent ultimately managed a $50B portfolio of full-spectrum consumer receivables generating a profit in excess of $2B annually. Kent joined Capital One in 1999 via the acquisition of a company he co-founded, American Direct Credit, an innovative, specialty finance company.

Kent previously served on the Board of Directors of Cambia Health Solutions and is active in the Boise community, where he and his wife of 27 years raised two children. Kent holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Idaho.
